Lillian Blanche: A trip with the Queen

Lillian Blanche by Swank Lean

No bars are held with Lillian Blanche. The Charlotte-born, pop-soul singer and songwriter is quick-witted and very blunt in life and her music. She rocked the Carolina Music Scene in 2017 when she released her first single Queen (Wipe Me Down). The music video on YouTube has a little over three thousand views but its originality is the real gem. She does not cut corners when it comes to production, a point she has proven time and time again as she has continued to release content.

SWEET Lillian Blanche

Recently she has garnered a lot of attention from tracks like Sweet, featured on her latest EP “Here you go: Songs You Wanted to Stream” which came out on all platforms in 2020. The track is a fun ride with equally fun visuals to accompany it.

Sweet – Lillian Blanche

The EP itself hits on just about every aspect of an intimate relationship. Sweet contains all the bubbly emotions of new love while Queen offers a deeper more mature love. By the time you reach Femme, she is in the break-up stage as her efforts to find true love prove futile. “Let’s be honest. Niggas ain’t doing me right.” She sings before recalling the unanswered calls and texts from her lover. Love is a consistent theme in her music. Whether having it, losing it, or expressing it in different ways.

Recently Lillian added more sugar to her single ‘Sweet’ by adding Jackson Missippi artist Akeem Ali. Akeem gained national attention in 2020 from his single ‘Keemy Casanova’ which currently has over 2 million plays on youtube.

* note: her aforementioned EP “Songs you wanted to stream’ has since been taken off popular streaming platforms as Lillian plans on remastering some of the tracks and re-releasing fan favorites.

Somebody Son

On her upcoming single, Somebody Son, which she delivers highly sensual lyrics with angelic melody in only the way she can. Sexy but subtly detached, her voice glides along with the instrumental. “F*ck to-night.” she sings as elegantly as could possibly be. Overall the song is a gorgeous arrangement of melodies. Great vocals with lyrics that will grab your attention. Thrive Indie was honored to hear an exclusive preview of the upcoming single which may or may not be accompanied by additional tracks. New EP? We will have to wait and see.

Adding to her resume she was featured on the track Run it up part 2 by Promise the GAHD. The track earned a spot on last year’s hit video game 2k21 which sold more than 8 million copies worldwide. Insiders like Kenny Quiller have called her one of the most versatile R&B artists on the rise. Though already very accomplished, this is only the start for Lillian. She is easily among the most talented and creative new artists working right now. Relentless in her pursuit of stardom, Lillian’s ascension will be hailed for her dedication to her craft and her take no prisoners mentality. She is currently operating independently out of Charlotte NC.
